Hypoxis hemerocallidea, the African star grass or African potato, is a medicinal plant in the Hypoxidaceae family.
It is native to southern Africa from South Africa as far north as Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

To keep your African potato plants thriving, maintain a balance of moisture and air circulation. The ideal soil condition is consistently moist, but never waterlogged. Ensure good ventilation and keep humidity levels low.

Watering needs:

– During the first three months, approximately 25mm of water per week.
– In cooler climates, reduce watering during winter months to keep the soil dry.
– Established plants are highly drought-tolerant, but consistent moisture promotes optimal growth.
